Tax Deed Sales: Yes, also called trustee sales. The board of county commissioners can order
a tax sale of these properties. Properties that do not sell will be placed on the next trustee auction.

Sale Period : Varies, depending on the county.

Redemption Period: The redemption period for tax lien certificates is 120 days for vacant land, and 2 years for improved property. Clark County will issue an absolute deed, upon the certificate holder's request, at the end of the redemption period. There is no extended right of redemption following the tax deed sale.

Bidding Process: Tax lien certificates are sold at public sale and you must be present to make a purchase.  All interested parties must register to receive a bidder number. A random number will be drawn to select the winning bidder. A first and second alternate will also be selected for the parcel from the number selection. The sale will then continue with all bidders eligible for each parcel on the sale list. At the trustee sale, the highest bidder wins.

Legal Challenge Period: Two years for trustee sales.
